“The most essential nature of humanity is our ability to constantly evolve”

With the advent of ChatGPT, the rapid advancement of AI capabilities has sparked growing concern that machines may soon replace many human roles. These concerns are not unfounded. Given that global corporations are investing astronomical sums and bringing together some of the brightest minds in the world to develop ever-more powerful AI, it seems inevitable that these technologies will eventually surpass human abilities in many areas.
No matter how much we invest in nurturing genius from a young age, it’s clear that individuals will not be able to outperform the powerful AI systems of the future. But does that mean we should simply give up and resign ourselves to being slaves to AI?
I believe that the greatest strength—and the core essence—of humanity is our capacity for creativity through continuous learning and open-mindedness. As long as we remain open to new ideas, humans are uniquely capable of learning, evolving, and experimenting. This, I believe, is the very foundation that will allow us to formulate effective strategies for coexisting with and responding to AI.
Therefore, it’s crucial that we begin using AI actively—right now and as much as possible—to enhance our work and accelerate our learning. Only those who go beyond passively accepting what AI provides, who combine it with their own ideas and take bold, continuous action, will avoid becoming dependent on AI and instead thrive alongside it.
In the past, humans were far more vulnerable than wild animals in the natural world. And yet, we built civilization. How? By working together—our ability to collaborate and co-exist was our superpower. This deeply social nature is something AI does not possess.
Though the 21st century is often said to be an era that celebrates individual talent and empowers people over organizations, ironically, the rise of AI may make collaboration even more essential. As AI begins to surpass individual capabilities, people will need to come together, harness AI, and use their collective creativity to build diverse, collaborative teams that can maintain a competitive edge.
Just as early humans banded together to survive against wild predators, we must now unite in our approach to AI in order to achieve sustainable growth. Only organizations that embrace collective strength and innovation in the face of AI will thrive in the future.
Now is not the time to hesitate. Investing just 40,000 won a month in an AI service that helps guide your work is a smart and forward-thinking decision. Companies, too, should actively pursue ways to integrate AI and transform the way their employees work.
