YoungLimWon Soft-Lab, a company that has specialized exclusively in enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions for over three decades, is expanding into the global market with its next-generation ERP integrated with artificial intelligence (AI). In a recent interview with Maeil Business Newspaper , CEO Young-Bum Kwon, who founded the company in 1993, said, “We plan to launch a next-generation ERP solution that incorporates AI in April to accelerate growth.” Kwon, an IT systems expert, was also responsible for designing the IT system for the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

YoungLimWon Soft-Lab is best known for its ERP solution, ‘K-System Ace,’ tailored for large and medium-sized enterprises. A unique feature of the solution is its modularity, allowing users to easily add or remove functional components, akin to assembling Lego blocks, to build a fully customized system. Now, the next-generation ERP solution, ‘K-System Ace I&I,’ builds on this foundation but incorporates advanced AI capabilities. This upgraded solution enables users to complete tasks using natural language via AI chatbots, while the AI analyzes corporate data in real time to support optimal decision-making processes.

“By integrating the data accumulated within ERP systems with AI automation technologies, we can minimize repetitive tasks and significantly boost work productivity,” explained Kwon.

YoungLimWon Soft-Lab has gained traction as a competitive alternative to SAP, the world’s leading ERP provider. Several institutions, including KOTRA, have recently transitioned to YoungLimWon’s ERP, further increasing the platform’s adoption rates. “Our strongest competitive advantage lies in offering a fully customized system that adheres to Korean tax regulations,” Kwon emphasized.

He further explained, “Global ERP providers generally use a standard cost-based accounting system for pricing, which necessitates additional accounting processes to reconcile costs. In contrast, YoungLimWon employs an after-cost system that streamlines accounting procedures, making them less cumbersome for businesses.”

In addition to its technical differentiation, YoungLimWon stands out in its consulting approach. Unlike conventional ERPs that rely on team-based consulting models, YoungLimWon adopts an individual consulting system. In this strategy, one dedicated consultant manages the entire project, offering end-to-end consulting, ensuring a seamless experience for clients.

The company is also investing in its global expansion efforts, focusing on markets like Japan and Southeast Asia. Last month, its Indonesian subsidiary signed a $8.9 million (approximately 12.9 billion won) contract with a global sports shoe manufacturer.
