We Practice Love, ‘YoungLimWon 1%Club’

Wan Seok Yoon, Global Marketing Content Manager

Is there any word in the world more powerful than ‘love’? Isn’t ‘love’ the ultimate purpose of our lives? We love ourselves, family, friends, and we extend that love to our neighbors, our country, and even to those suffering on the other side of the globe. Despite climate change, war, and extreme poverty, it’s ultimately human compassion that sustains humanity.

One of the core philosophies of YoungLimWon Soft-Lab is ‘sharing and living in harmony with our neighbors.’ We implement this philosophy in various ways, one of which is through the 1%Club that supports the education of young people. Employees donate 1% of their monthly salary, and the company matches this amount to fund scholarships. The recipients are either the younger schoolmates of our employees or students from schools in the vicinity of YoungLimWon Soft-Lab. These students are those who dream big, plan their lives, and strive to achieve their goals. While academic performance is important, what matters more for becoming a scholarship recipient is the effort to realize their dreams.

Since its inception in 2005, the 1%Club has supported over 400 students. In addition to providing monthly scholarships, we engage in various cultural activities with the students, give them gifts, read books together, and hold discussions as part of our mentoring activities. Many students have successfully enrolled in their target universities, and recently, we received some very good news at YoungLimWon Soft-Lab.

Ki Bok Kim, a brilliant student we’ve supported since middle school, has finally achieved his dream of becoming a lawyer. We were so thrilled that we created and displayed a congratulatory banner on one of the company’s walls. We hope that as he embarks on his legal career, he will continue to spread positive influence in his community.

We are all people with warm hearts. When we share and give, we become happier. The YoungLimWon 1%Club will continue to grow and develop, spreading happiness along the way.
